Get Lippy

Paint your pout to perfection with a lip brush. Apply one coat of your fave lippy, then blot with a piece of tissue pressed between your top and bottom lip and then apply a second coat.

Top make-up artist Lorraine Meeghan from Blu Eriu recommends dusting a little pressed powder over your lippy and it'll stay put for hours. Add a tiny dab of Vaseline to the middle of your lower lip for the perfect pout.

Glamour Glow

Apply your fake tan before applying your make-up and allow it to develop so that your make-up will match the tone of your tan. Apply your self-tanners with a light hand. Additional layers can always be added later.

How to apply your fake tan

1. Exfoliate area to be tanned. This is a very important first step so don't skip over it.

2. Rinse skin thoroughly.

3. Do not apply moisturizer before applying the tanning product.

4. Thoroughly rub the self-tanner into the skin to avoid streaks.

5. Do not apply to knees, elbows or feet.

6. Wash hands to remove the product. This is one area that you do not want colour to develop.

7. Allow colour to develop

8. If smell is still an issue, wash the area well after the colour has fully developed.

Debs Survival Kit

It's better to be safe than sorry. That's why we've come up with a list of debs essentials that will get you through the night glitch-free. Don't leave home without...

  • Blotting papers -- Because it's your night to shine (but not that kind of shine).
  • Stain wipes -- Unless you want to wear that drop of salad dressing all night.
  • Pain relievers -- Because a headache shouldn't keep you off the dance floor!
  • Breath mints -- Unless you don't want to kiss your date!
  • Band-Aids -- No, we don't expect any bumps or bruises -- but blisters are another story!
  • An emery board -- To fix a broken nail in seconds flat.
  • A digicam or a disposable camera – Because we can't always rely on memory.
  • A mirrored compact -- In case the ladies' room is a mob scene, or for touch-ups in the limo.
  • Bobby pins -- To control stray strands, whether you're rocking an updo or letting it all hang loose.
  • Cotton swabs -- Great as emergency makeup tools (whether to get more on or rub a little off).
  • Safety pins -- Don't let "wardrobe malfunctions" happen to you.
  • Cash and/or card -- For emergency purchases -- like a late-night burger and coke with the crew.
  • Your cell phone -- Like you'd really leave home without it!
  • Your keys -- Obviously! (Got to go home eventually ).
  • Debs tickets -- To get you in!

Under Cover

You wake up the morning of your Debs with a shiny red spot…… don't fret! First, resist the urge to treat your blemish with any kind of pimple lotion until the day after your Debs. You need to create a smooth surface for concealer, and pimple cream will leave your skin all flaky. When you're ready to go undercover, follow these steps: Apply oil-free moisturizer to your face—pimple included—and let it sink in. With a brush or very clean finger, dab concealer onto the spot. Pat lightly to blend around the edges, using as light a touch as possible so you don't end up dabbing away all the concealer. Now brush on the teensiest amount of translucent powder to set the makeup. Look—no more pimple!
