DEBS DATES: 7 CREATIVE WAYS TO ASK HIM OUT
Quit singing the "I Don't Have a Debs Date" blues, and get up and do something about it! If your guy would sooner spend the night crying into his pillow than risk the humiliation of being rejected, then you'll have to take charge. Don't wait for him to get his act together. Here are seven fun and fearless ideas to help you make the first move.
1. For the outgoing: Track down his phone number, try one of his friends, simply ring him up and ask if he would like to be your date for the Debs. Best time to ring would be on a Sunday evening, not much going on Sunday evenings, you can bet he will be sitting in home and will be only too delighted to receive your call. What guy could resist such confidence?
2. For the music lover: If you know his favourite radio station, call in a song request. Make sure the DJ dedicates the song to your guy and then relays your question over the airwaves. Here's an example: "This one goes out to Chris from Sarah. She wants to know, Will you be her date for the Debs?" After you've put in your request, call him and tell him to listen up.
3. For the practical joker: Get an old parking ticket and slip it behind the windshield wiper of his car along with a note from you. He'll be so relieved that he doesn't have to pay a fine -- and he'll be only too happy to spend the money on a ticket to the Debs.
4. For the savvy: Get on Bebo and send him a personal message. Only he will see it and you will know whether he got it or not by checking out when he was last online.
5. For the food lover: If the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, then order a pizza to be delivered to his house and ask the delivery guy to write a note from you on the inside flap of the box. Imagine his delight when he opens up the box and finds not only a hot, delicious pizza but also your invitation staring him in the face!
6. For the romantic: Something along the lines of "Roses are red, Violets are blue, I need a Debs date, How about you?" Just slip it into his locker when he's not around. Just make sure that you sign your name.
7. For the young at heart: If you share a class together, here's your chance to go back to the good old days of elementary school. Pass him a note that says: Be my Debs date? Check one: __ Yes. Don't make room for "No" -- and you can't lose.
